Teatr Weimar - Hamlet II: exit ghost

HAMLET II: EXIT GHOST is a performance, which approaches Shakespeare’s classical text with serious contemporary music, video and performance art. The two actors play the roles of Hamlet and Ophelia, but turn also into Gertrude and Polonius. This leads to a game of identity, a transformation of one person into another, at the centre of which are Hamlet‘s and Ophelia‘s despair and madness. The set-up is a play within a play, in which the audience Gertrude and Polonius watch Hamlet and Ophelia approach their fate.

Teatr Weimar is the leading performing arts collective in Sweden with the base in Malmö, in the very south of Sweden. Teatr Weimar consist of playwrights, dramaturgs, researchers, directors, actors, technicians, musicians and set designers who explore the expressions and boundaries of contemporary performing art.
